More than 40 per cent of patients with vision problem have astigmatism1 Are you one of them?
Astigmatism is a condition in which the cornea (the clear covering of the front of the eye) is curved differently, leading to blurred vision. Astigmatism causes people to have blurred vision at all distances and can occur together with short-sightedness or long-sightedness.
Is your uncorrected astigmatism the cause of your headaches?
Astigmatism causes blurred vision, which may result in problems like headaches and tired eyes2. While these problems may not necessarily be the result of astigmatism, it is advisable that you correct your astigmatism so that you can enhance your daily performance. Astigmatism can be diagnosed by your optometrist or eye specialist, who will conduct an eye examination to fully assess the extent of the problem.
If you are wearing spectacles that corrects for astigmatism, the contact lenses that you wear should also correct for astigmatism.
